2021 Ford F-150 Insurance in Nashville, TN

We pulled real quotes from four national carriers using one identical 2021 Ford F-150 insurance profile in Nashville. On this profile GEICO came in cheapest at $627 for six months. State Farm was next at $669.18, only about $42 more. Progressive sat at the top of the range at $951 for the same six months, which is $324 above GEICO for the same driver.

That is the headline from this 2021 Ford F-150 insurance comparison. With an identical truck and a clean-record driver, the price still swings by more than half depending on which carrier you ask. The gap between the two cheapest carriers, GEICO and State Farm, was under $43, while the jump from GEICO to Progressive was almost eight times that.

The Ford F-150 is the best-selling vehicle in America, so these numbers reach a lot of drivers. It is not cheap to insure. The truck carries a loan for many owners, and lenders require full coverage, which means collision and comprehensive on top of liability. That full-coverage requirement is part of why insuring this truck runs higher than a liability-only policy, and it is built into every quote below.

Here is the full driver profile, the coverage we asked for, and a carrier-by-carrier breakdown of what each company quoted.

The Driver Profile

Every quote used the same inputs so the comparison stays fair:

  • Age 33, single female, licensed 17 years
  • Nashville, TN, ZIP 37203, two years at the address
  • Homeowner, employed as an insurance agent, bachelor’s degree
  • Clean record: zero accidents and zero violations in the past three years, no DUI, no SR-22
  • Prior coverage: Nationwide, nine years, 50/100 bodily injury limits, no lapse
  • Vehicle: 2021 Ford F-150 XLT, financed through Ford Motor Credit
  • 10,000 miles a year, pleasure use

The Coverage Package

We asked every carrier for the same limits so the premiums line up:

  • Bodily injury liability: 100/300
  • Property damage liability: $100,000
  • Collision deductible: $500
  • Comprehensive deductible: $500
  • Uninsured and underinsured motorist: Yes

Two caveats matter before the numbers. GEICO, Progressive, and State Farm each produced a no-credit-hit estimate on this profile, because the synthetic driver had no credit file to pull. A real applicant with a thin or low credit-based insurance score could see a different number. And two carriers could not match the target package exactly, so we flag those gaps in the table and the breakdown to keep the comparison clear.

GEICO Came Cheapest on This Profile

GEICO quoted $627 for six months, about $104.50 a month, and it matched the full target package. Bodily injury landed at 100/300, property damage at $100,000, both deductibles at $500, and uninsured and underinsured motorist at 100/300. The quote opened at GEICO’s low default limits and only reached the target after we raised each coverage in the online editor and recalculated. So the $627 reflects the coverage we requested, not a stripped-down starter policy.

We declined GEICO’s DriveEasy telematics program to keep the estimate comparable. Keep in mind this GEICO figure is a no-credit-hit estimate, so a real credit-based insurance score could move it.

State Farm Was a Close Second

State Farm came in at $669.18 for six months, roughly $111.53 a month, only $42.18 above GEICO on this profile. Bodily injury hit the 100/300 target, property damage reached $100,000, and both deductibles landed at $500. The one gap is uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. State Farm quoted it at Tennessee’s default 50/100 limit, and raising it in the online editor bounced the quote to an agent, so we kept the settled number at the default.

State Farm never asked for a Social Security number in this flow, so its premium is also a no-credit-hit estimate. We turned off its Drive Safe and Save telematics program to keep the comparison telematics-neutral, which gives up a discount a real driver could choose to keep.

Liberty Mutual Landed in the Middle at Default Limits

Liberty Mutual quoted $891 for six months, about $148.50 a month, but this one comes with a coverage caveat that matters more than the price. Its online quote surfaced only the Basic package name and premium, not the individual limits, and the pre-purchase editor would not let us confirm or raise bodily injury, property damage, or the deductibles. So this $891 sits at Liberty Mutual’s default coverage, not the verified 100/300 target the other carriers matched. It is not an apples-to-apples number, and we are not ranking it against the full-coverage quotes.

One thing we could control was telematics. Liberty Mutual offered a way to decline its RightTrack program, and declining it raised the quote from $761 to $891 by removing a 15 percent usage-based discount, so we declined it for a fair comparison against the other declined-telematics carriers.

Progressive Was the Most Expensive Here

Progressive quoted $951 for six months, about $158.50 a month, or $880 if paid in full up front. That is $324 above GEICO and the top of this comparison. Progressive did match the target limits: 100/300 bodily injury, $100,000 property damage, uninsured motorist bodily injury at 100/300, and $500 deductibles on both collision and comprehensive. One Tennessee detail is worth a flag.

Progressive’s uninsured motorist property damage coverage carries a state-mandated $200 deductible that cannot be removed, so that piece is not a perfect match to a zero-deductible target. We declined Progressive’s Snapshot telematics program, and like the others this quote ran as a no-credit-hit estimate.

What Drives 2021 Ford F-150 Insurance Rates in Nashville

Nashville has grown fast, and more cars on the same roads means more fender benders and higher repair bills. A full-size truck like the F-150 costs more to fix than a compact car, and its size can mean larger property-damage claims in an at-fault crash. Parts and labor for a modern truck with driver-assist sensors and aluminum body panels run higher than for older vehicles, and that cost flows straight into the collision and comprehensive parts of the premium.

A financed truck raises the stakes further. Ford Motor Credit, like any lender, requires full coverage until the loan is paid off, so this driver cannot drop collision or comprehensive to trim the bill. Tennessee also lets insurers use credit-based insurance scores, so two drivers with identical records can land at very different prices.

Uninsured drivers push rates up too. Tennessee has one of the higher uninsured-driver rates in the country, and the Insurance Research Council has long tracked how those rates feed back into everyone’s premium. That is one reason the uninsured and underinsured motorist limits in this package are worth keeping, and why State Farm’s lower 50/100 uninsured limit is a real difference, not a rounding error.

State minimum liability in Tennessee is just 25/50/15, per the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, well below the 100/300 this driver carried. How to Save on Insurance

A few concrete moves can trim what you pay on a truck like this one:

  1. Compare at least four carriers on the exact same coverage. On this profile the gap from GEICO to Progressive was $324 over six months at matched limits, and the only way to find it is to shop the same package everywhere.
  2. Read the fine print on telematics. Programs like GEICO DriveEasy, Progressive Snapshot, State Farm Drive Safe and Save, and Liberty Mutual RightTrack can lower a rate, but some bake the discount in and some let you decline. Know which one you are getting.
  3. Confirm the uninsured motorist limit, not just bodily injury. State Farm matched the target on liability but quoted uninsured motorist at Tennessee’s lower 50/100 default, which is less protection for a similar price.
  4. Ask about homeowner, paperless, and multi-policy discounts. This driver owns a home, and bundling or going paperless trims the rate at most carriers.
  5. Raise your deductible if you have savings to cover it. Moving from a $500 to a $1,000 collision deductible often lowers the premium. Our deductibles guide walks through the math.
  6. Keep the record clean. Zero accidents and zero violations, like this profile, earns the best tier at every carrier.

None of these moves trade away coverage, and together they are the difference between the $627 GEICO quote and the $951 Progressive quote on the very same truck. That is the real range on 2021 Ford F-150 insurance in Nashville. Shop the same limits across at least four carriers at every renewal, and let the lowest honest number win.
